Digital Archives

More and more primary sources such as newspapers, government publications and records are being digitised and made freely available by our important cultural institutions . Personal sources such as letters, diaries personal narratives and photographs are also available online. These primary sources can be used by students to piece together historical narratives. They can also be used to investigate cause and effect, historical significance and the idea of contestability. Digital collections are diverse and the evidence they provide is not just limited to documents. Images, art and artefacts are also a great way to engage with the past.
